Art and Music

on October 2, 2012

Our Pups Classes have been learning about Artists and Musicians.

We have been so fortunate to have these special visitors make learning about these topics more meaningful and enjoyable.

Ms. Mijin Lee-Kim working with the young illustrators

Our first visitor was Ms. Mijin Lee-Kim of Books on Wheels, an art school located at the Madrigal Business Center in Alabang. One of the most interesting classes offered is the Make Your Own Book course. I saw a sample of a book made by one of their students and the artworks were so creative, but I must admit, I was blown away by the quality of the book. The paper, colors and even the cover were really impressive.

Ms. Kim read a story to our students featuring dinosaurs and trains. With the help of her teacher, Gemma Javier, they taught the children how to illustrate dinosaurs and trains with step-by-step guidance.

Ms. Mijin reads and Teacher Gemma draws with us.

Our next visitors were musicians from the Blues Band, SANGRE BLUES REVIVAL. Johnblues De Zuniga (Mojo’s dad) and on guitar and Alex “Injun Joe” Quebral on vocals and harmonica. They sang some songs that got the children dancing and jamming along. A song about “Mojo”, blues versions of our favorites “10 Little Indians” and “London Bridge” and finally, “Johnny Be Good.” Good times, man!

“We’re with the band…”

Thank you so much for sharing your precious time and wonderful talents with us!
